Yesterday, I changed my tagline from Epic romance, two heroes at a time to Enduring romance, two heroes at a time.

A little change because of a big realization.

When I created the original tagline, I was thinking of Marc & Wolf’s love story and chose “epic” because of the scope of that story — their lifetimes.

As I moved into Sons of Britain, it still felt right because of the scope of Arthur’s series: lots of POVs, multiple locations across the British Isles and Gaul, and over a couple decades.

But the more I wrote series like Sons of Britain, Shift & Seek, and even Rogue Rescue, I realized I don’t actually enjoy writing on an epic scale: high external stakes, simultaneous action in several locations, lots of chess pieces on the board.

Nope.

What I love (and what I’m getting back to this year — more on that soon) are quiet stories, closely focused on the romantic couple. The stakes are internal, emotional, and personal. World-saving only on the level of the characters’ hearts.

And I love stories that go beyond the initial hint of an HEA. Like, let’s read that in action, whether it’s in the series or in extras.

So I looked at words that could evoke the strength and lasting quality of those bonds, and enduring felt just right.

It also evokes a sense of legacy, and I’ll admit that feels good too. 😊
