Welcome to My Story Almanac

Fancy way of saying blog, but it fits how I move through the world. That’ll become more apparent with more posts.

Basically, newsletters aren’t cutting it for me anymore. They feel one-sided, broadcast-y, and heavy, like, Do I have something worth sharing in this once-a-month message?

Scheduled newsletters feel stale as a medium, in general, and I’ve been wanting something more alive.

So I’ve started this almanac.

Traditional almanacs include info about weather, moon phases, sunrise/sunset, and tides to help folks predict the best times to do work in nature — farming, fishing, etc. (Lia Leendertz’s annual Almanac is my favorite.)

This almanac won’t be so much about prediction, but it will involve the seasons and how those affect my story garden.

In fact, it’ll be as much a garden journal as an almanac — a place to share milestones but also more informal, immediate insights that come up as I write.

For the past 2-1/2 years, I’ve been posting chapters-in-progress, and now I want a fun, easy way to share the process-in-progress too.

Also, since I post all stories at AO3, I’ll be cross-posting these almanac entries there too. If you follow me at AO3, you can be notified when I post anything — story or blog.

Please do comment if something resonates! I’d love to have some chats. 🙂

(Note for salespeople and bots: I’ll delete any comments I consider spammy. This is a safe, abundant space for readers and creators. Don’t make it awkward.)
